The original colony pioneers in online tourism marketing as well.

In 2001, Virginia Tourism Corporation engaged eBrains to conduct a test to secure online inquiries for travelers interested in receiving more information about vacationing in Virginia. The inquiries were fulfilled with the Virginia Travel Guide through regular mail. The goals of the program were to accelerate inquiries post September 11 and lower the cost of lead acquisition, plus build a database of opt-in email addresses.   It was the most successful lead generation the state had experienced.

Since then, we have been fortunate to continue our relationship with Virginia through two administrations, three agency changes and two personnel changes. We’re proud to be a part of the Virginia team and to build strong evolving relationships.

With eBrains’ support and consultation, VTC is one of the leading practitioners of online relationship marketing among state tourism offices.  Their email database is now very robust.  Along with leads from other sources, 685,000 names have been generated for them by eBrains via PI Internet™, eBrains’ proprietary online lead generation service.  Most of those names reside in one of nine special interest categories, allowing targeted email content and promotions.   As needed we have helped with emails, creating and delivering over 2 million.  During their Quadricentennial commemoration of the Jamestown settlement we created a multifaceted, cooperative online promotion including an interactive flash component housed on their website.

Importantly, Virginia has never taken a risk during our relationship as we have always guaranteed and over-delivered on their results.

The bottom line for Virginia:
51%         Initial conversion rate to visitors from all inquiries
308,000    Visitor parties
$262 Million    Visitor spending/economic impact
467 to1     Return on Investment, including second and third year travel
